Youngsters Doncic, Smith lead Mavs past Wolves 140-136

DALLAS (AP) Luka Doncic had the home crowd roaring in the teenager's Dallas debut with step-back 3-pointers and big buckets late while fellow youngster Dennis Smith Jr. quietly played a secondary role.

The script flipped in the final seconds.

Doncic scored 26 points after a rough start in the No. 3 overall pick's first home game, Smith converted a tiebreaking three-point play with six seconds left and the Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 140-136 in a wild offensive game Saturday night.
