Analysis: The Celtics haven't had to rush Avery Bradley back from his Achilles injury because Smart has played so well in his place. The 2014 first-round pick is averaging 13.7 points, 4.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 steals over his last eight games, though those numbers will certainly take a hit once Bradley comes back.
Feb. 13 8:16 PM PT9:16 PM MT10:16 PM CT11:16 PM ET4:16 GMT12:16 9:16 PM MST11:16 PM EST8:16 UAE05:1623:16 ET10:16 PM CTNaN: - Smart had a productive night with 19 points, three 3-pointers, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block Monday at Dallas.
Analysis: Smart has shot 51.4 percent (18 of 35) in his last three games after connecting on just 36.0 percent (18 for 50) in his five previous contests. Boston is red hot now and Smart should continue to play a meaningful role.
Feb. 9 5:07 PM PT6:07 PM MT7:07 PM CT8:07 PM ET1:07 GMT9:07 6:07 PM MST8:07 PM EST5:07 UAE (+1)02:0720:07 ET7:07 PM CTNaN: - Smart will start in place of Jae Crowder on Thursday vs. the Trail Blazers.
Analysis: Crowder is dealing with a family matter.
Jan. 10 6:52 PM PT7:52 PM MT8:52 PM CT9:52 PM ET2:52 GMT10:52 7:52 PM MST9:52 PM EST6:52 UAE (+1)03:5221:52 ET8:52 PM CTNaN: - Smart continued to fill in nicely for the injured Avery Bradley with 16 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals in a loss at Toronto on Tuesday.
Analysis: Smart's role likely will be decreased when Bradley returns, but maybe it shouldn't be. In the last three games, Smart has averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 8 of 14 from long range.
Jan. 7 6:19 PM PT7:19 PM MT8:19 PM CT9:19 PM ET2:19 GMT10:19 7:19 PM MST9:19 PM EST6:19 UAE (+1)03:1921:19 ET8:19 PM CTNaN: - Isaiah Thomas continued his torrid stretch with 38 points and Smart, starting for the injured Avery Bradley, scored a season- and home career-high 22 as Boston hit 18 3-pointers and had 71 during the four-game homestand.
Analysis: With Bradley down with an Achilles strain, Smart scored 15 points in the first half and finished with six assists, five rebounds and two steals. He was 7 for 10 from the floor, 5 for 7 from behind the arc. He could have some value as long as Bradley is sidelined.

Analysis: Apparently there's a bug going around with the Celtics because Smart had started Friday in place of an ill Avery Bradley, who is expected to play Tuesday. Backup Tyler Zeller was also hospitalized over the weekend with an illness.
Dec. 25 12:12 PM PT1:12 PM MT2:12 PM CT3:12 PM ET20:12 GMT4:12 1:12 PM MST3:12 PM EST0:12 UAE (+1)21:1215:12 ET2:12 PM CTNaN: - Smart made a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 47 seconds left and finished with 15 points and the Celtics beat the Knicks 119-114 on Sunday.

Analysis: It seems unlikely that he'll play Saturday, but given Boston's other injuries, perhaps Brad Stevens will put Smart in the lineup.

Analysis: Smart's versatility has shown during a six-game stretch in which he's averaged 13.8 points, four rebounds and 3.3 assists and seen more minutes at small forward in place of an injured Jae Crowder. He's also been shooting well, having knocked down 38.2 percent of his 3-point tries over that period.
Nov. 11 7:30 PM PT8:30 PM MT9:30 PM CT10:30 PM ET3:30 GMT11:30 8:30 PM MST10:30 PM EST7:30 UAE (+1)04:3022:30 ET9:30 PM CTNaN: - Smart had his most complete game of the season Friday in his first start, tallying 12 points, 10 assists and six rebounds in a rout of the Knicks.

Nov. 9 5:55 PM PT6:55 PM MT7:55 PM CT8:55 PM ET1:55 GMT9:55 6:55 PM MST8:55 PM EST5:55 UAE (+1)02:5520:55 ET7:55 PM CTNaN: - Smart had a season-high 20 points and made four 3-pointers in Wednesday's loss to the Wizards.

Analysis: The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Smart, 22, has posted career averages of 8.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.5 steals in 128 career games since the Celtics drafted him sixth overall out of Oklahoma State in the 2014 NBA Draft. He has missed the first three games of the 2016-17 season due to a sprained left ankle but expects to play Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.
Oct. 20 7:42 AM PT8:42 AM MT9:42 AM CT10:42 AM ET14:42 GMT22:42 7:42 AM MST9:42 AM EST18:42 UAE16:4210:42 ET9:42 AM CTNaN: - Smart made his season debut Wednesday against Chicago, scoring only seven points on 2-of-8 shooting in 34 minutes but chipping in five rebounds and five assists.
Analysis: Smart had missed the first three games of the season with an ankle injury. While his struggles on offense Wednesday included six turnovers, he did play well defensively and it is on that end of the court where he's considered most valuable.
