Analysis: Thornton did just fine in replacing injured starting guard Bradley Beal. Expect more of the same in a meaningless finale.

Analysis: Thornton averaged 10.0 points in 47 games with Houston before being waived by the Rockets last month. The seven-year veteran, who owns a career average of 12.4 points per game, brings experienced depth to a backcourt limited by Bradley Beal's ongoing injury issues.

Analysis: The Pistons had agreed to acquire Thornton and Donatas Motiejunas from the Rockets while sending Joel Anthony to the Sixers, but it's believed Motiejunas did not pass his physical. The forward underwent back surgery last April and hasn't played since Jan. 1 due to recurring pain.
Feb. 18 3:29 PM PT4:29 PM MT5:29 PM CT6:29 PM ET23:29 GMT7:29 4:29 PM MST6:29 PM EST3:29 UAE (+1)00:2918:29 ET5:29 PM CT21:29 - The Houston Rockets have dealt forward/center Donatas Motiejunas and guard Marcus Thornton to Detroit in a three-team trade that also includes Philadelphia.
Analysis: Houston received a protected 2016 first-round pick from Detroit and the draft rights of forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum from the Sixers in the deal. The Rockets also sent Denver's second-round pick in 2017 to Philadelphia and the Sixers received center Joel Anthony from the Pistons. Thornton appeared in 47 games for Houston this season, averaging 10 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Analysis: He was the lone bright spot in another dismal shooting performance for the 0-3 Rockets. Thornton didn't play in either of the first two games, so his role going forward remains unclear.
