Analysis: Last year with the Pelicans, the 27-year-old Gordon averaged 16.7 points while playing in only 45 games while battling a fractured finger bone. The Rockets are retooling their roster around four-time All-Star guard James Harden.

Analysis: A similar injury sidelined him 16 games. When the 6-foot-4 Gordon finally returned, he averaged nearly 23 points during three full games before re-injuring his finger.
