Analysis: Beasley was arrested earlier this offseason in Arizona on charges of felony marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. It was the latest in a series of incidents involving the drug that have plagued his NBA career, and Phoenix decided to buy him out to make him a free agent.

Officer David Pubins says Beasley was arrested early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop.
Analysis: Pubins says an officer found three cigarettes suspected to contain marijuana in Beasley's Mercedes after smelling marijuana during the stop. Pubins says Beasley was released after being cited for investigation of one felony count each of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Pubins, court proceedings in the case will begin once results of lab tests are available.
