Analysis: The 6-foot-8 Powe averaged 5.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season before he was waived on Feb. 24. He also brings playoff experience, serving as a key reserve for the Boston Celtics during their 2007-08 championship season. Memphis now has three players with playoff experience as the Grizzlies make a run at the postseason. They are eighth in the Western Conference with a key game against fourth-place Oklahoma City on Monday.

Analysis: Powe had the successful procedure Friday after an MRI exam revealed the injury, which was originally believed to be a bone bruise. Powe overcame a torn ACL in his left knee while playing for Boston during the 2009 playoffs to play 20 games with the Cavaliers in 2009-10. He has appeared in 14 games this season, averaging 5.0 points.
