Analysis: Robinson was injured in a spill underneath the Nuggets' basket during the first quarter of Wednesday night's loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. The team announced Robinson had the surgery during the second quarter of their game against the Toronto Raptors. Robinson became a key performer off the bench after signing with Denver as a free agent last summer. He averaged 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games this season. The loss of Robinson left Denver without its top two point guards. Robinson was hurt while starting in place of the injured Ty Lawson, who missed his second consecutive game Friday with a left rotator cuff strain.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Monday because the deal hadn't been officially announced. The deal was first reported by the Denver Post.
Analysis: The 5-foot-9 Robinson averaged 13 points a contest for the Chicago Bulls last season. He stepped up his game in the postseason, scoring 34 points in a triple overtime win in Game 4 against Brooklyn and playing through the flu later in that series. Robinson joins a crowded Denver backcourt that also includes Ty Lawson, Evan Fournier, Andre Miller, rookie Erick Green and newly acquired Randy Foye.
