Analysis: West was picked up by the affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 25, though Mavericks owner Mark Cuban flatly ruled out a return to the team that suspended the veteran guard twice in two weeks before waiving him in October.

Analysis: West can sign with any NBA team while playing for the Legends, just as he could have as a free agent after the Mavericks let him go. The Legends acquired him because they were next in line to pick up players from the D-League player pool when West joined it.

Analysis: West, who has bipolar disorder, indicated in a series of tweets after the second suspension that his future in Dallas was in doubt. He was a valuable role player for the Mavericks last year and figured to play a similar role this year before a pair of locker room incidents during the preseason.

President of basketball operations Donnie Nelson said the ban was lifted after the eight-year veteran met with Nelson and Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle on Tuesday. West was a valuable player off the Dallas bench last season and is expected to fill a similar role in 2012-13.
Analysis: After Monday night's preseason win over Houston, Carlisle told reporters West was suspended without offering any details. West has bipolar disorder. He was suspended for the first 10 games of the 2010-11 season after pleading guilty to weapons charges in Maryland. Authorities say he was carrying three loaded guns and a knife when he was stopped for speeding on a three-wheel motorcycle in 2009.

Scott Cordischi and John Rooke take your calls, texts, tweets and emails on the week's hot topics. The boys are back together in studio! It’s a bittersweet reunion due to the end of the NCAABB Tournament run for the PC Friars, so we say “see you next season” to the play by play team of John Rooke and Joe Hassett. We don’t waste time looking ahead with the issues confronting the men’s basketball program at URI and PC. On the table is the argument over the validity of RPI, outgoing coveted players, incoming recruits and whether Coaches Dan Hurley and Ed Cooley will remain after their successful 2014 season. Some time is spent on the NFL owners meetings, with the whiny Baltimore Ravens and a ranting Bill Belichick. We close March in all it’s madness, with “Three Things” where we celebrate the open mic and a young man’s passion .
