Analysis: The person says Howard became sick Sunday on the long flight back to Atlanta, which followed a promotional tour of the Asian country. He was released from the hospital early Monday after being treated with fluids and showing no signs of a serious problem. The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because no official statement has been released by the team.

Analysis: Howard, a native of Atlanta, is an eight-time All-Star who has won three Defensive Player of the Year Awards. Howard has averaged 17.8 points and 12.7 rebounds in his career with the Magic, Lakers and Rockets. This past season for the Rockets, Howard averaged 13.7 points and 11.8 rebounds.
