Analysis: Howard had his best game since joining the Timberwolves last month. He said the knee is feeling good now - and he looked great in 29 minutes against the Sixers, shooting 7 of 12 and making two 3-pointers.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal has not been officially announced. ESPN.com first reported the agreement.
Analysis: The 32-year-old Howard worked out for the Wolves on Monday in Dallas. Howard averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 43 games with Utah last season. He has also played for Washington and Dallas. Minnesota is missing Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, Chase Budinger, JJ Barea, Nikola Pekovic and Brandon Roy because of injuries.
