Analysis: Marion, who began the season in Cleveland's starting lineup, underwent an MRI on Monday and the test revealed a strained left hip. The team said the 36-year-old will be out "approximately" two weeks. He has been struggling with the injury for the past month. Marion did not travel with the Cavs to Detroit for Tuesday night's game against the Pistons. Cleveland has won 16 of 18.

Analysis: Marion agreed to a one-year contract with the Cavs last month and the sides made the agreement official on Tuesday. A 15-year veteran, Marion won a championship with Dallas in 2011. Last season, the 6-foot-7 Marion averaged 10.4 points and 6.5 rebounds in 76 starts for the Mavericks.
