O'Neal lay in pain until he limped to the locker with the help of teammates.
Analysis: O'Neal, who is scheduled to have an MRI exam, hopes to play in Game 7. "Anything short of God coming back and rapture, anything short of that, I will play," he said.
Apr. 18 11:27 AM PT12:27 PM MT1:27 PM CT2:27 PM ET18:27 GMT2:27 11:27 AM MST1:27 PM EST22:27 UAE20:2714:27 ET1:27 PM CT17:27 - Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson says O'Neal will start in place of injured center Andrew Bogut for Game 1 of their opening-round playoff series at the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
Analysis: Jackson said Friday that he wants O'Neal to start because it's easier for the 35-year-old veteran to stay loose. He also says O'Neal provides a similar skill set to Bogut, who is out indefinitely with a fractured right rib. O'Neal averaged 7.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in 44 games this season, his 18th in the NBA. He sat out 25 games following surgery on his right wrist in December and also missed time with injuries to his right foot, groin and both knees.
Mar. 2 12:50 PM PT1:50 PM MT2:50 PM CT3:50 PM ET20:50 GMT4:50 1:50 PM MST3:50 PM EST0:50 UAE (+1)21:5015:50 ET2:50 PM CT19:50 - Jermaine O'Neal's misplaced passport has left the Golden State Warriors one man short Sunday against the Toronto Raptors. O'Neal was unable to travel with his teammates to Canada on Saturday because his passport was either lost or stolen, Warriors coach Mark Jackson said.
Analysis: With O'Neal not in the rotation, expect more minutes for fellow reserve forwards Marreese Speights and Draymond Green in Sunday's game.
Feb. 23 9:18 PM PT10:18 PM MT11:18 PM CT12:18 AM ET5:18 GMT13:18 10:18 PM MST12:18 AM EST9:18 UAE06:180:18 ET11:18 PM CT4:18 - O'Neal had season highs of 23 points and 13 rebounds as the Golden State Warriors held off the Brooklyn Nets 93-86 on Saturday night.
Analysis: O'Neal has started in his last five appearances but this was the kind of fluke fantasy performance that hopefully your team was not on the other end of.
Feb. 11 1:09 PM PT2:09 PM MT3:09 PM CT4:09 PM ET21:09 GMT5:09 2:09 PM MST4:09 PM EST1:09 UAE (+1)22:0916:09 ET3:09 PM CT19:09 - The Golden State Warriors will be without centers Andrew Bogut and O'Neal when they host the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
Analysis: With the All-Star break up next, Warriors coach Mark Jackson says the team wanted to give Bogut and O'Neal more time to rest nagging injuries. It will be the fourth straight game Bogut has missed because of a left shoulder injury, while O'Neal will sit out for the second consecutive game with inflammation in his surgically repaired right wrist.
Dec. 12 10:08 PM PT11:08 PM MT12:08 AM CT1:08 AM ET6:08 GMT14:08 11:08 PM MST1:08 AM EST10:08 UAE07:081:08 ET12:08 AM CT4:08 - O'Neal returned Tuesday for the Warriors.
Analysis: It marked the first time he played since undergoing right wrist surgery Dec. 13. In an ironic twist, both of his last two games have been against Charlotte.
Nov. 18 10:53 AM PT11:53 AM MT12:53 PM CT1:53 PM ET18:53 GMT2:53 11:53 AM MST1:53 PM EST22:53 UAE19:5313:53 ET12:53 PM CT16:53 - The Golden State Warriors say an MRI exam shows O'Neal has a bruised right knee and a strained right groin.
Analysis: He is considered day to day. He has battled numerous knee injuries throughout his career, though the most serious have been to his left knee.
Nov. 3 8:50 PM PT9:50 PM MT10:50 PM CT11:50 PM ET4:50 GMT12:50 9:50 PM MST11:50 PM EST8:50 UAE05:5023:50 ET10:50 PM CT2:50 - O'Neal missed Saturday's game against Sacramento with a right foot contusion.
Analysis: There is no word on a return date.
July 23 2:31 PM PT3:31 PM MT4:31 PM CT5:31 PM ET21:31 GMT5:31 2:31 PM MST4:31 PM EST1:31 UAE (+1)23:3117:31 ET4:31 PM CT20:31 - The Golden State Warriors signed free agent center Jermaine O'Neal to a $2 million, one-year contract Tuesday.
Analysis: O'Neal, a six-time NBA All-Star, had reached agreement on a contract two weeks ago. Golden State is likely to use the 34-year-old O'Neal as a backup to Andrew Bogut. Festus Ezeli is working back from right knee surgery and is not expected to be ready to return for months. O'Neal played in 55 games with four starts last season for the Phoenix Suns, averaging 8.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 18.7 minutes. The 6-foot-11 center is entering his 18th NBA season.

Minor Details Ep. 98: Youth without the transition - Rusney Castillo and Brock Holt

How can teams acquire players who are entering their primes without having to live through the potentially massive transition of prospects coming from the minors to the big leagues? The Red Sox have two such case studies. The signing of Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo represents one effort to acquire a player for his prime years for whom the transition to big league-caliber competition might not be turbulent. Red Sox assistant director of player personnel discusses the scouting process involved with landing Castillo. The episode also features Brock Holt, the one rookie who played at a consistently high level for the Red Sox this year. Holt explores some of the distinctions that might help to explain why he did not experience some of the struggles that characterized the seasons of Xander Bogaerts and Jackie Bradley Jr.
