He had six points, three rebounds and three steals in 15 minutes.
Analysis: Garnett was playing in his second home game since being reacquired by the Timberwolves, and he picked up a technical in the second quarter from referee Eric Lewis for arguing a foul call. Then in the third quarter, Garnett slammed the ball down in frustration after a foul on Jeff Green. Referee Bennett Salvatore quickly issued a technical foul, prompting Garnett's ejection. It was a disappointing outcome for more than 19,000 fans who came to the game to cheer Garnett.

Analysis: The Timberwolves reacquired Garnett in a trade with Brooklyn last week, and he had five points, eight rebounds and two blocks in 19 minutes in an emotional 97-77 victory over Washington on Wednesday night. But Saunders decided to rest the 38-year-old Garnett on Friday night for the first part of back-to-back games for Minnesota. Garnett is averaging 6.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in 43 games this season.

Garnett decided to sit out after grabbing 13 rebounds in the Nets' 98-93 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday. The 38-year-old forward played 29 minutes, just over the 24-28 limit that coach Lionel Hollins prefers.
Analysis: Asked how much input Garnett had in the decision not to play, Hollins says: ''All of it. It's his body.'' Garnett and Duncan, who is about a month older, have been two of the NBA's best power forwards since the 1990s, and both are in the final year of their contracts. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich praised the competitiveness of both and said he would miss seeing Garnett play.
