Analysis: Police say Kidd was alone in the Cadillac Escalade when it hit a pole and veered into the woods around 2 a.m. Sunday in the hamlet of Water Mill. The Knicks signed the 39-year-old Kidd in free agency this week. He'd played for the Dallas Mavericks since 2008.
