Latest News
Oct. 8 2:45 PM PT3:45 PM MT4:45 PM CT5:45 PM ET10:45 PM GMT6:45 AM 北京时间-Happ was knocked out of Game 2 of their division series against Colorado on Thursday after he was struck in the knee by a line drive in the seventh inning. Happ sustained a lower left leg contusion. X-rays were negative.
Analysis: Happ faced only one batter in Thursday's game. Colorado pinch-hitter Seth Smith hit a hard shot straight off Happ's leg for an infield single. The Phillies trainer immediately came rushing out and Happ left the game for Scott Eyre. Happ went 12-4 for the Phillies this year and made 23 starts. He relieved Joe Blanton, another member of Philadelphia's rotation who was used in relief. Happ and Blanton are both candidates to start Game 3 on Saturday at Colorado.
Sep. 30 1:33 PM PT2:33 PM MT3:33 PM CT4:33 PM ET9:33 PM GMT5:33 AM 北京时间-Happ pitched effectively into the sixth inning and the Phillies moved closer toward clinching their third straight NL East title with a 7-4 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Happ (12-4) allowed four runs - three earned - and nine hits in 5 2-3 innings, striking out six. He's the first rookie to win 12 games for Philadelphia since Jim Owens in 1959.
Sep. 25 12:17 PM PT1:17 PM MT2:17 PM CT3:17 PM ET8:17 PM GMT4:17 AM 北京时间-Happ tied Randy Wells of the Chicago Cubs for the most victories by a rookie as Philadelphia beat Milwaukee 9-4 on Thursday night.
Analysis: Happ might be the Philadelphia Phillies' answer to their late-inning bullpen woes when it comes time for the postseason. Phillies closer Brad Lidge has blown a major league-leading 11 saves this season and Ryan Madson has been ineffective finishing games for the NL East leaders. Happ leads all rookies in ERA (2.79), complete games (three), shutouts (two), strikeouts (112) and innings pitched (158 1-3).
Sep. 19 11:07 AM PT12:07 PM MT1:07 PM CT2:07 PM ET7:07 PM GMT3:07 AM 北京时间-Happ, making his first start since Sept. 2 because of a strained oblique, left after three innings and did not earn a decision in Friday's 9-4 victory over the Braves. The Phillies announced his departure was for ``precautionary reasons'' after the left-hander allowed five hits, one run, no walks and struck out one.
Analysis: Happ doesn't know if he will make his next scheduled start.
Sep. 3 5:06 PM PT6:06 PM MT7:06 PM CT8:06 PM ET1:06 AM GMT9:06 AM 北京时间-Happ, a leading candidate for NL rookie of the year, allowed four runs and eight hits in six innings as the Phillies lost 4-0 to the Giants on Wednesday.
Analysis: Happ was thwarted in his bid to become the first Phillies rookie to win 11 games since Bob Walk in 1980. The four runs were the most he's allowed in a game in his last seven starts and only the fourth time in 19 starts this season he's allowed four or more runs.
Aug. 28 2:09 PM PT3:09 PM MT4:09 PM CT5:09 PM ET10:09 PM GMT6:09 AM 北京时间-Happ pitched an eight-inning complete game Thursday in Pittsburgh, but a two-run homer by Garrett Jones in the eighth made Happ the loser, 3-2.
Analysis: The homer prevented Happ from becoming the first Phillies rookie to win 11 games since Bob Walk in 1980. Happ was 3-0 with a 1.21 ERA in his first four August starts.
Aug. 23 11:47 AM PT12:47 PM MT1:47 PM CT2:47 PM ET7:47 PM GMT3:47 AM 北京时间-Happ became the first NL rookie to reach 10 wins in Saturday night's 4-1 victory in New York. In his third straight win, the left-hander allowed one run and scattered eight hits over his seven innings.
Analysis: Happ (10-2, 2.59 ERA) is scheduled to pitch Thursday night in Pittsburgh. He beat the Pirates on July 12 by allowing one run over seven innings.
Aug. 17 1:14 PM PT2:14 PM MT3:14 PM CT4:14 PM ET9:14 PM GMT5:14 AM 北京时间-Happ earned his second win in three starts as he allowed one run and three hits over 7 2-3 innings in Sunday night's 4-1 victory in Atlanta.
Analysis: With the victory, Happ (9-2, 2.66 ERA) tied Chicago's Randy Wells for the NL lead in wins among rookies. Since allowing five runs and 10 hits to St. Louis on July 24, he has given up five runs in his last four starts - a 1.57 ERA in that time. Happ will likely face the New York Mets on Saturday night. He did not get a decision in his only start against the Mets on June 9.
Aug. 7 3:28 PM PT4:28 PM MT5:28 PM CT6:28 PM ET11:28 PM GMT7:28 AM 北京时间-Happ isn't going to the bullpen to make room for Pedro Martinez.
Analysis: "Happ's not going anywhere," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said Thursday. "He deserves to stay in the rotation. He's pitched very well. He's probably been our most effective starter." Happ tossed a four-hitter against Colorado and struck out 10 for his second career shutout Wednesday night. The rookie left-hander is 6-2 with a 2.80 ERA in 14 games as a starter.
Aug. 6 3:53 PM PT4:53 PM MT5:53 PM CT6:53 PM ET11:53 PM GMT7:53 AM 北京时间-Happ stated his case to keep his spot with a career-high 10 strikeouts in his second shutout of the season, leading the Phillies to a 7-0 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night.
Analysis: If Phillies officials are convinced Pedro Martinez can start in the major leagues, he likely would send Happ (8-2) to the bullpen.
Jul. 30 2:30 PM PT3:30 PM MT4:30 PM CT5:30 PM ET10:30 PM GMT6:30 AM 北京时间-Happ has lost two straight starts after yielding two runs and three hits over six innings Wednesday in a 4-0 loss at Arizona.
Analysis: Happ began his career 7-0, but the two straight losses have hurt the former Northwestern star's chances of winning rookie of the year honors. He may not remain in the rotation with the acquisition of Cliff Lee from Cleveland.
Jul. 12 5:09 PM PT6:09 PM MT7:09 PM CT8:09 PM ET1:09 AM GMT9:09 AM 北京时间-Happ improved to 6-0 by allowing one run over seven innings in Sunday's 5-2 victory over visiting Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Happ has recorded five straight quality starts, and he has two victories and a 2.00 ERA in that time.
Jul. 8 9:37 AM PT10:37 AM MT11:37 AM CT12:37 PM ET5:37 PM GMT1:37 AM 北京时间-Happ allowed three runs and six hits, striking out a career-high seven in seven sharp innings in Philadelphia's 4-3 loss to Cincinnati on Tuesday night.
Analysis: The rookie left-hander remained unbeaten in nine starts since replacing Chan Ho Park in the rotation.
Jul. 3 1:15 PM PT2:15 PM MT3:15 PM CT4:15 PM ET9:15 PM GMT5:15 AM 北京时间-Happ held the Braves to two runs in seven innings Thursday night, but the Phillies went on to lose 5-2.
Analysis: Happ has been a very strong addition to Philadelphia's starting rotation, going 3-0 with a 3.16 ERA in eight starts since the move from the bullpen. He's 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA over his last three outings, but the Phillies have won just one of those games.
Jun. 28 11:35 AM PT12:35 PM MT1:35 PM CT2:35 PM ET7:35 PM GMT3:35 AM 北京时间-Happ threw a five-hitter for his first career complete game in a 10-0 win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.
Analysis: Happ struck out four and didn't walk a batter to win for the first time in four starts and improve to 5-0 on the season. He threw 100 pitches, 64 for strikes. "I didn't always get strike one but we were trying to focus on getting ahead in the count," Happ said. "That's something I've struggled with the last few games. It all kind of came together today."
Jun. 10 10:02 AM PT11:02 AM MT12:02 PM CT1:02 PM ET6:02 PM GMT2:02 AM 北京时间-Happ couldn't earn a third straight win as he allowed four runs over 5 1-3 innings in a 6-5 loss to the host New York Mets on Tuesday night.
Analysis: Happ (4-0, 2.98 ERA) has two wins and a 3.42 ERA since joining the starting rotation May 23. He is expected to start Sunday at home against Boston and has never faced the Red Sox.
Jun. 4 3:35 PM PT4:35 PM MT5:35 PM CT6:35 PM ET11:35 PM GMT7:35 AM 北京时间-Happ held the Padres to four hits in seven scoreless innings, the longest of his eight career starts over two seasons in Philadelphia's 5-1 win on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked two.
Analysis: Happ was solid out of the bullpen for the Phillies and he's been good since moving into the rotation, going 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA in three starts.
May 30 9:17 AM PT10:17 AM MT11:17 AM CT12:17 PM ET5:17 PM GMT1:17 AM 北京时间-Happ (3-0) went 5 1-3 innings and allowed three runs on three hits while matching his career high with five strikeouts as the Phillies defeated Washington 5-4 on Friday.
Analysis: All three of the left-hander's wins - two in relief - this season are against the Nationals.
May 24 9:34 AM PT10:34 AM MT11:34 AM CT12:34 PM ET5:34 PM GMT1:34 AM 北京时间-In his first start of the season, Happ allowed two runs and four hits in six innings Saturday against the New York Yankees. He was denied a win, however, when Brad Lidge blew a two-run lead in the ninth.
Analysis: Happ, who is taking Chan Ho Park's spot in the rotation, lowered his ERA to 2.60. The big left-hander had not allowed a run in his last 10 1-3 innings out of the bullpen.
May 19 3:17 PM PT4:17 PM MT5:17 PM CT6:17 PM ET11:17 PM GMT7:17 AM 北京时间-Phillies manager Charlie Manuel plans to start Happ in Chan Ho Park's place on Saturday against the New York Yankees after announcing Tuesday he was removing Park from the rotation.
Analysis: Happ has made five career starts for the Phillies, and was pitching out of the bullpen this season, where he was 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA in 12 appearances.
