Analysis: Liriano allowed seven runs on five hits and three walks in two innings as the Blue Jays defeated the Indians 8-7 on Wednesday. Control problems have plagued Liriano, who has issued 23 walks in 28 1/3 innings while going 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA in seven starts. The erratic lefty is still averaging over a strikeout per inning, though that's the only fantasy category in which he's an asset right now.

Analysis: Control problems continue to plague Liriano, who walked five while lasting only 3 2/3 innings in his previous start and has issued 23 free passes in 28 1/3 innings. The erratic lefty is still averaging over a strikeout per inning, though that's the only fantasy category in which he's an asset right now.

Analysis: The left-hander went 2-2 with a 2.01 ERA in his previous four starts despite allowing 18 hits and walking 11 over 22 1/3 innings. He's walked 20 in 26 1/3 innings in his six outings.

Analysis: ''His stuff was good, but his balls-to-strikes ratio wasn't,'' manager John Gibbons said. ''But he held them down and gave us a shot.'' That, unfortunately, is too often the problem with Liriano.
Apr. 14 10:28 AM PT11:28 AM MT12:28 PM CT1:28 PM ET13:28 ET17:28 GMT1:28 10:28 AM MST12:28 PM EST12:58 PM VEN21:28 UAE12:28 PM CT-Liriano struck out 10 Orioles in 6 2/3 innings in a strong bounce-back performance, though he wound up with a loss after allowing both Baltimore runs in the Blue Jays' 2-1 defeat on Thursday.
Analysis: The one silver lining in the Blue Jays' latest loss was that Liriano was miles better than his horrid season debut, when he was rocked for five runs and walked four while retiring just one batter Friday at Tampa Bay. Despite this encouraging outing, the lefty remains a risky play when he faces Boston's potent lineup at home on Wednesday.
Apr. 8 9:21 AM PT10:21 AM MT11:21 AM CT12:21 PM ET12:21 ET16:21 GMT0:21 9:21 AM MST11:21 AM EST11:51 AM VEN20:21 UAE11:21 AM CT-Liriano's first start of 2017 was a disaster, as the left-hander recorded just one out while being rocked for five runs and walking four of the eight batters he faced Friday at Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The Blue Jays rallied to take the lead later on and bail Liriano out, though the no-decision is small consolation. He shouldn't be a recommended play when he next takes the mound Thursday at home against the power-hitting Orioles.
