Analysis: The 33-year-old designated hitter appeared to injure his hamstring as he rounded second base on an RBI single by Mitch Moreland and was immediately replaced by a pinch runner. Ramirez went 2 for 3 with a walk prior to departing.

Analysis: They were Ramirez's first RBIs of the season, but he's hit safely in all five games he has played. He's 4 for 12 since missing four games with flu-like symptoms. ''I think he's carried what he did last year into this season despite missing the four games in Detroit,'' Red Sox manager John Farrell said. ''I think he's carried that confidence he had last season into the first five games that he's been active.''
