Jan. 4 3:35 PM PT4:35 PM MT5:35 PM CT6:35 PM ET11:35 PM GMT7:35 AM 北京时间-Bay's contract with the New York Mets includes a $17 million option for 2014 with a $3 million buyout, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press.
Analysis: Bay took a physical Monday, a necessary step to finalize the deal, and the Mets scheduled a Tuesday news conference at Citi Field to introduce their first major free-agent signing of the offseason. He is guaranteed $66 million under the four-year contract and could make $80 million over five seasons, the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the contract had not yet been announced.
Dec. 29 2:21 PM PT3:21 PM MT4:21 PM CT5:21 PM ET10:21 PM GMT6:21 AM 北京时间-Bay has reached a preliminary deal with the New York Mets that will be completed assuming he passes a physical.
Analysis: The three-time All-Star is expected to sign a four-year contract for about $65 million. The 31-year-old outfielder hit 36 home runs with 119 RBIs last season for Boston. Bay fills a huge hole in left field for the Mets, who skidded to a 70-92 mark during an injury-plagued year and were looking for a bopper.
Dec. 14 8:10 PM PT9:10 PM MT10:10 PM CT11:10 PM ET4:10 AM GMT12:10 AM 北京时间-The retooling Red Sox made two key moves in one day, reaching tentative agreements with pitcher John Lackey and outfielder Mike Cameron. The moves seem to indicate Boston has abandoned an attempt to re-sign Bay.
Analysis: Bay led Boston with 36 homers, 94 walks and 119 RBIs in 2009.
Sep. 22 2:44 PM PT3:44 PM MT4:44 PM CT5:44 PM ET10:44 PM GMT6:44 AM 北京时间-Bay went 2 for 5 with a three-run homer in Monday's 12-9 loss to the Royals. He has homered in four straight games.
Analysis: Bay's homer was his career-best 36th. He has a career-high 113 RBIs this season.
Sep. 21 3:17 PM PT4:17 PM MT5:17 PM CT6:17 PM ET11:17 PM GMT7:17 AM 北京时间-Bay went 2 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs in the Red Sox's 9-3 win at Baltimore on Sunday.
Analysis: Bay has been hot of late, going 9 for 24 (.375) with four homers and 10 RIs over his last seven games.
Sep. 19 10:09 AM PT11:09 AM MT12:09 PM CT1:09 PM ET6:09 PM GMT2:09 AM 北京时间-Bay hit his team-high 34th home run in Friday's 3-1 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: His 34 homers are one short of his career high, and his 107 RBIs are two less than his career best. He left the game in fifth with flulike symptoms.
Sep. 18 3:09 PM PT4:09 PM MT5:09 PM CT6:09 PM ET11:09 PM GMT7:09 AM 北京时间-Bay went 2 for 4 with a homer and two RBIs in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.
Analysis: Bay needs two homers and three RBIs in match career highs, both set in 2006 with Pittsburgh.
Sep. 4 1:06 PM PT2:06 PM MT3:06 PM CT4:06 PM ET9:06 PM GMT5:06 AM 北京时间-Bay had two hits Thursday in a 6-3 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Bay is 26 for 88 (.295) over his previous 25 games as he seems to be rounding into form for the stretch run for the Red Sox, who are bidding to earn a second straight AL wild-card berth.
Sep. 2 1:40 PM PT2:40 PM MT3:40 PM CT4:40 PM ET9:40 PM GMT5:40 AM 北京时间-Bay hit his 30th homer, a solo shot in the fourth off Andy Sonnanstine (6-8), in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Rays.
Analysis: Bay reached 30 homers for the fourth time.
Aug. 26 11:16 AM PT12:16 PM MT1:16 PM CT2:16 PM ET7:16 PM GMT3:16 AM 北京时间-Bay hit a towering go-ahead home run in the eighth inning of Boston's 6-3 win over the White Sox on Tuesday night.
Analysis: After a midseason drought, Bay now has eight homers in his last 17 games. He's two shy of reaching 30 for the fourth time.
Aug. 13 12:01 PM PT1:01 PM MT2:01 PM CT3:01 PM ET8:01 PM GMT4:01 AM 北京时间-Bay's resurgent hot streak continued Wednesday as he homered and doubled twice in an 8-2 win over Detroit.
Analysis: He reached base five times Wednesday and now has four homers in his last five games after a lengthy slump. "When Jason gets hot, as you can see, it's not just singles," Boston manager Terry Francona said. "He starts driving the ball all over the park."
Aug. 12 3:16 PM PT4:16 PM MT5:16 PM CT6:16 PM ET11:16 PM GMT7:16 AM 北京时间-Bay homered for the third time in his last four games as the Red Sox beat Detroit 7-5 on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bay had been dealing with a hamstring injury and a lengthy slump in production, but he's obviously shown more pop in recent games. Tuesday's game was also his second multi-hit effort since the All-Star break, as he went 2 for 4.
Aug. 9 4:30 PM PT5:30 PM MT6:30 PM CT7:30 PM ET12:30 AM GMT8:30 AM 北京时间-Bay was back in the lineup against the New York Yankees on Sunday, ending Kevin Youkilis' adventure in left field and returning some pop to what's been a punchless offense.
Analysis: Bay had missed the first three games of the series after re-injuring his hamstring while running out a grounder Wednesday in a 6-4 loss to Tampa Bay. The Red Sox initially thought it was a strain, but manager Terry Francona said it was a cramp caused by dehydration.
Jul. 17 5:10 PM PT6:10 PM MT7:10 PM CT8:10 PM ET1:10 AM GMT9:10 AM 北京时间-Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein said the team had been discussing a contract extension for Bay and made him an offer last week. Unable to reach a deal, the two sides agreed to shelve talks until after the season.
Analysis: Bay, batting .260 with 20 homers and 72 RBIs, is eligible for free agency at the end of the year. The Red Sox negotiated with Bay during spring training, then suspended talks after the season began before picking them up again in mid-June. "It's now clear that this round of talks won't result in a deal, either," Epstein said. "We're going to table discussions again, once again as a mutual decision and pick them up, most likely, after the season."
Jun. 20 12:44 PM PT1:44 PM MT2:44 PM CT3:44 PM ET8:44 PM GMT4:44 AM 北京时间-Bay went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run as the Red Sox lost 8-2 to the Braves on Friday night.
Analysis: It was Bay's first multihit performance at Fenway Park since May 20. Between those contests, the All-Star outfielder batted .170 (8 for 47) with one home run and 11 strikeouts in 13 home games.
Jun. 17 10:48 AM PT11:48 AM MT12:48 PM CT1:48 PM ET6:48 PM GMT2:48 AM 北京时间-Bay drove in two runs in Boston's 8-2 win over Florida on Tuesday.
Analysis: Bay, who has six RBIs in his last three games, leads the AL with 63 runs driven in.
Jun. 14 1:03 PM PT2:03 PM MT3:03 PM CT4:03 PM ET9:03 PM GMT5:03 AM 北京时间-Bay homered and had three RBIs as the Boston Red Sox overcame another shaky outing by Matsuzaka to beat the Philadelphia Phillies 11-6 on Saturday night.
Analysis: Bay hadn't homered since June 2 but he's been an amazing threat in the middle of Boston's lineup this season. He's hitting .283 with 17 homers and 60 RBIs.
Jun. 7 1:27 PM PT2:27 PM MT3:27 PM CT4:27 PM ET9:27 PM GMT5:27 AM 北京时间-Bay extended his hit streak to six games and had two RBIs for the third time in that span to help the Red Sox to a 8-1 victory Saturday night over visiting Texas.
Analysis: Bay is tied for the AL lead with Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria at 55 RBIs and has seven during his streak.
May 30 11:26 AM PT12:26 PM MT1:26 PM CT2:26 PM ET7:26 PM GMT3:26 AM 北京时间-Bay had two hits Friday in a 6-3 loss at Toronto.
Analysis: Bay snapped out of a 4-for-24 slump.
May 21 10:30 AM PT11:30 AM MT12:30 PM CT1:30 PM ET6:30 PM GMT2:30 AM 北京时间-Bay went 2 for 3 with a two-run home run in the Red Sox's 8-3 win over Toronto on Wednesday.
Analysis: That gives Bay 12 homers and 42 RBIs, both of which rank second in the AL. It's safe to say the Red Sox do not miss Manny Ramirez, who is currently serving a 50-game drug suspension.
May 14 11:43 AM PT12:43 PM MT1:43 PM CT2:43 PM ET7:43 PM GMT3:43 AM 北京时间-Bay had his sixth straight game with an RBI, driving in two runs in an 8-4 loss in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.
Analysis: Bay, second in the AL with 37 RBIs, has driven in 12 runs during his streak and batted .346 with three doubles and three home runs.
May 9 10:07 AM PT11:07 AM MT12:07 PM CT1:07 PM ET6:07 PM GMT2:07 AM 北京时间-Bay hit his second sixth-inning, three-run homer in two nights to tie the game 3-3 as Boston went on to defeat Tampa Bay 7-3 on Friday.
Analysis: Bay is batting .400 (8 for 20) with four homers and 12 RBIs in his last five games.
May 8 12:27 PM PT1:27 PM MT2:27 PM CT3:27 PM ET8:27 PM GMT4:27 AM 北京时间-Bay homered and drove in four runs Thursday in a 13-3 win over Cleveland.

Analysis: For Bay, it's too bad the Red Sox go a month without facing their arch-rivals again. He is 10 for 18 (.556) with three homers and 10 RBIs against the Yankees this season.
May 5 9:29 AM PT10:29 AM MT11:29 AM CT12:29 PM ET5:29 PM GMT1:29 AM 北京时间-Bay went 3-for-5 in a 6-4 road win over the New York Yankees on Monday.
Analysis: Bay has dominated the Yankees this year, going 9-for-15 with five runs scored and seven RBIs.
May 3 4:29 PM PT5:29 PM MT6:29 PM CT7:29 PM ET12:29 AM GMT8:29 AM 北京时间-Bay left Saturday's game in the sixth inning with a left ankle bruise. He fouled a pitch off the ankle in the third.
Analysis: It's unclear how serious the injury is. After a hot streak last week, Bay has cooled off, going 1-for-12 in his last four games.
Apr. 28 10:41 AM PT11:41 AM MT12:41 PM CT1:41 PM ET6:41 PM GMT2:41 AM 北京时间-Bay took another star closer deep, hitting a three-run homer in the ninth inning off Kerry Wood as the Boston Red Sox won their 11th straight, 3-1 over the Cleveland Indians on Monday night.
Analysis: Bay's third hit sent the Red Sox to another drama-filled win. They were coming off an emotional three-game sweep at Fenway Park over the rival New York Yankees, a series that began with Bay connecting for a two-run, two-out homer in the ninth off Mariano Rivera.
