He suffered his injury after fouling a ball off his foot in batting practice in Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Analysis: The Red Sox recalled outfielder Josh Reddick from Triple-A Pawtucket. He was available for Thursday night's game in New York against the Yankees. With outfielder Jason Bay expected to miss at least the first two games of the four-game series because of a bad hamstring, the Red Sox shifted Gold Glove first baseman Kevin Youkilis to left field. |

He has not played since. Analysis: X-rays on Baldelli's knee revealed no damage. Baldelli was hurt when he slid while trying to catch a foul pop from Aaron Hill. Baldelli made the grab as he hit the low, padded wall but the impact knocked the ball out of his glove. |
