Analysis: Second in the AL West, the Athletics were looking to add a hitter after trading Yoenis Cespedes to the Boston Red Sox for starter Jon Lester before the July 31 nonwaiver deadline. Dunn has 460 career homers, but has struggled in four seasons with the White Sox.
Aug. 19 10:07 PM PT11:07 PM MT12:07 AM CT1:07 AM ET1:07 ET5:07 GMT13:07 10:07 PM MST12:07 AM EST12:37 AM VEN9:07 UAE12:07 AM CT-Dunn's four-year, $40 million contract is up at the end of this season and the slugger hinted Monday there is a possibility he could retire.
Analysis: Dunn, who turns 35 in November, has 459 homers and could move way up the all-time list by sticking around a few more years since he's just three away from tying Jose Canseco for 34th place. But he said numbers, even the possibility of hitting 500 homers, won't be a determining factor.

Analysis: Dunn will never light the world on fire with his batting average, though he is batting a respectable .271 over his last 13 games with three homers and nine RBIs. His .806 OPS this year is his highest since an .892 mark with Washington in 2010.
