Analysis: Lowe finished the season 15-10 with a 4.67 ERA, his highest since posting a 5.42 ERA in 2004, his last season in Boston. Lowe said he's looking forward to trying to correct mechanical flaws in the offseason. "I don't know where I went wrong," Lowe said. "I just got into so many bad habits as far as mechanics. I tried to correct it. It was never there. It's disappointing. It's frustrating, But it's over."

The sinkerballer induced 13 groundouts and had six 1-2-3 innings.

Analysis: Pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, the Phillies beat Lowe in the NLCS opener, and he had a no-decision in Game 4. After signing a four-year $60 million free-agent contract in the offseason, Lowe is expected to lead Atlanta's rotation and should make his home debut March 12 against Washington. In his six career starts versus the Nationals, Lowe is 5-1 with a 2.41 ERA and has struck out 31 while walking seven.

Analysis: The Braves gave Lowe a four-year $60 million free-agent contract to lead the Braves' revamped rotation. He gave up a run and five hits without walking a batter, lowering his spring ERA to 3.27. He has 24 strikeouts in 22 innings. "He was good again," Braves manager Bobby Cox said. "He's had a terrific spring." Cox hasn't decided on his opening day start, but Lowe is in line for the honor.
