Analysis: Jones-Drew missed practice Monday because of a bruised right leg. He got hurt in the final preseason game last week when Washington cornerback Fred Smoot tackled him low from behind, a hit Jones-Drew is still upset about. He worked in full pads Wednesday, showing no problems running, cutting and catching passes. Coach Jack Del Rio said there's little doubt his offensive star will be ready when the Jaguars open the season at Indianapolis on Sunday.

Analysis: Jones-Drew bruised his right shin in Jacksonville's final preseason game against the Redskins. Jones-Drew, who signed a five-year, $30.95 million contract in April and is expected to be the workhorse of the Jaguars' offense, was injured on a tackle by Washington's Fred Smoot on the team's first drive of the game. Apr. 15 8:07 AM PT9:07 AM MT10:07 AM CT11:07 AM ET4:07 PM GMT12:07 AM 北京时间-Jones-Drew has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 5-foot-7, 208-pound dynamo led the team with 824 yards rushing last year and ranked second with 62 receptions for 565 yards. He scored 14 touchdowns. He is expected to do even more in 2009 since the Jaguars released Fred Taylor, the franchise's career rushing leader, in February.
