The 37-year-old Gonzalez joins Jerry Rice as the only players to reach the 200-game milestone. The San Francisco 49ers great holds the record with a catch in 274 consecutive games.

Analysis: Gonzalez, who recently announced he will play one more season after originally planning to retire, has been honored for his professionalism in helping pro football writers do their jobs. Gonzalez had one of his best seasons at age 36 as the Falcons went 13-3 and won the NFC South. One of the NFL's most popular players, Gonzalez caught a team-high 93 passes for 930 yards and eight touchdowns, earning his 13th Pro Bowl appearance.

Analysis: Gonzalez said during the season he was 95 percent sure he would retire after the 2012 season. His productive season made it difficult to stick with the retirement plan. Gonzalez, who turned 37 last month, led the Falcons with 93 catches for 930 yards and eight touchdowns. Each total set a high for his four seasons in Atlanta. He added 14 catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns in the team's two postseason games.
