Feb. 26 10:31 PM PT11:31 PM MT12:31 AM CT1:31 AM ET6:31 GMT2:31 PM 北京时间11:31 PM MST1:31 AM EST12:31 AM CT10:31 UAE1:31 ET5:31 - A Massachusetts sheriff says former NFL star Aaron Hernandez has been involved in a prison altercation. Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson tells Rhode Island's WJAR-TV that the former New England Patriots tight end had an altercation at the Bristol County House of Corrections on Tuesday.
Analysis: Hodgson said he couldn't provide much information, but told the TV station that Hernandez and another inmate are part of an internal investigation at the prison. He said Hernandez is away from the general prison population, in a segregated housing unit. The 24-year-old Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
Feb. 14 11:17 AM PT12:17 PM MT1:17 PM CT2:17 PM ET19:17 GMT3:17 AM 北京时间12:17 PM MST2:17 PM EST1:17 PM CT23:17 UAE14:17 ET17:17 - A Massachusetts judge says she found no ethical violations by prosecutors in the Aaron Hernandez murder case, but she did impose a formal gag order to protect the ex-New England Patriot's right to a fair trial. Hernandez's attorneys had accused the state of allowing leaks and prejudicial out-of-court statements. They also sought a gag order from Judge Susan Garsh.
Analysis: They claimed the prosecution orchestrated a "publicity stunt" last year when Miami Dolphin Michael Pouncey was served with a subpoena after a game at Gillette Stadium. Prosecutors denied that and say they have leaked nothing. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the murder of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd. Garsh's order, entered Thursday, demands both sides take "reasonable precautions" against prejudicial disclosures and says prosecutors must investigate any reports of leaks.
Jan. 16 7:16 AM PT8:16 AM MT9:16 AM CT10:16 AM ET15:16 GMT11:16 PM 北京时间8:16 AM MST10:16 AM EST9:16 AM CT19:16 UAE10:16 ET13:16 - A search warrant indicates that Boston police have been investigating whether former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez may have been the gunman in a 2012 double slaying. No charges have been filed in the shooting deaths of Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu and Safiro Teixeira Furtado in Boston's South End. Hernandez has come under scrutiny in the case since his arrest in a separate murder case in which he has pleaded not guilty.
Analysis: Boston police write in the June 28 affidavit there is probable cause to believe that Hernandez was driving a vehicle used in the shooting and "may have been the shooter." The affidavit was released Thursday in Connecticut. It was filed as police sought to search an SUV they say was involved in the 2012 shooting and was found at Hernandez's uncle's home in Bristol, Conn.
Sep. 6 11:00 PM PT12:00 AM MT1:00 AM CT2:00 AM ET6:00 GMT2:00 PM 北京时间11:00 PM MST1:00 AM EST1:00 AM CT10:00 UAE2:00 ET5:00 - Hernandez is set to be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge following his indictment in the killing of a friend authorities say was shot five times in an industrial park.
Analysis: The arraignment is scheduled for Friday afternoon in Fall River Superior Court. A Massachusetts grand jury last month returned the indictment against Hernandez in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-professional football player from Boston who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend. It also includes five gun counts.
Aug. 22 9:32 AM PT10:32 AM MT11:32 AM CT12:32 PM ET16:32 GMT12:32 AM 北京时间9:32 AM MST11:32 AM EST11:32 AM CT20:32 UAE12:32 ET15:32 - A Massachusetts grand jury has indicted former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez on a first-degree murder charge in the death of a man whose bullet-riddled body was found in an industrial park near his home. The grand jury returned the indictment Thursday. It charges Hernandez with the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend.
Analysis: Hernandez pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in June. His lawyers say the case against him is circumstantial and they're confident he will clear his name. He's being held in jail without bail. Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd's killing because he had talked to people Hernandez had problems with at a nightclub. Hernandez could face life in prison if convicted.
Aug. 5 11:29 AM PT12:29 PM MT1:29 PM CT2:29 PM ET18:29 GMT2:29 AM 北京时间11:29 AM MST1:29 PM EST1:29 PM CT22:29 UAE14:29 ET17:29 - Prosecutors have given Hernandez's attorneys surveillance video from outside a Boston nightclub where he and his friend allegedly had a dispute a few days before the friend was killed.
Analysis: Defense attorney James Sultan says he received a "substantial amount" of material Monday. Prosecutors turned over most of it ahead of a brief court hearing in Massachusetts on preserving the evidence. Hernandez, the former New England Patriot, has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old Boston semi-professional football player whose body was found June 17 near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough, Mass.
July 24 8:07 AM PT9:07 AM MT10:07 AM CT11:07 AM ET15:07 GMT11:07 PM 北京时间8:07 AM MST10:07 AM EST10:07 AM CT19:07 UAE11:07 ET14:07 - Police searches in Connecticut last month turned up ammunition, a gun box and documents tied to the two co-defendants of Hernandez.
Analysis: A judge has unsealed three of four search warrants from the investigation into the death of Odin Lloyd. The warrants were used to search Hernandez's uncle's home, an apartment and a rental car police say was used by co-defendants Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz the day after the shooting. The items seized from the home include Correction Department documents linked to Ortiz and Wallace, a plastic gun box and two boxes of .38-caliber ammunition.
June 28 6:03 PM PT7:03 PM MT8:03 PM CT9:03 PM ET1:03 GMT9:03 AM 北京时间6:03 PM MST8:03 PM EST8:03 PM CT5:03 UAE (+1)21:03 ET0:03 - An arrested man from former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez's hometown was transferred to Massachusetts on Friday to face a gun charge connected to the murder case against Hernandez while a third suspect surrendered to authorities in Florida.
Analysis: Carlos Ortiz, who lives in Bristol, Conn., and Ernest Wallace, who walked into a South Florida police station, were the men identified earlier as being with Hernandez and the victim the night of his shooting death, a prosecutor said.
June 27 12:55 PM PT1:55 PM MT2:55 PM CT3:55 PM ET19:55 GMT3:55 AM 北京时间12:55 PM MST2:55 PM EST2:55 PM CT23:55 UAE15:55 ET18:55 - Puma has ended its relationship with Hernandez.
Analysis: The sportswear company made the move Thursday to end the two-year contract it agreed to in April with Hernandez, Puma spokesperson Katie Sheptyck said. On Wednesday, the former New England Patriots tight end was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a friend. The Patriots released him after his arrest and before his court appearance. A judge denied bail Thursday.
June 26 7:26 AM PT8:26 AM MT9:26 AM CT10:26 AM ET14:26 GMT10:26 PM 北京时间7:26 AM MST9:26 AM EST9:26 AM CT18:26 UAE10:26 ET13:26 - The New England Patriots say they've released Hernandez "following his arrest in the investigation of a homicide" last week in nearby North Attleboro.
Analysis: The Patriots issued a statement Wednesday saying: "We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do." The move came a few hours after Hernandez was taken from his home in handcuffs.
June 25 4:32 PM PT5:32 PM MT6:32 PM CT7:32 PM ET23:32 GMT7:32 AM 北京时间4:32 PM MST6:32 PM EST6:32 PM CT3:32 UAE (+1)19:32 ET22:32 - A Massachusetts court has sealed documents related to the killing of a semi-pro football player found dead a mile from the home of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. Attleboro District Court officials said Tuesday that documents related to the case, including search warrants, have been impounded, meaning the public can't see them. No charges have been filed.
Analysis: State police have searched in and around Hernandez's home in North Attleborough several times. At least three search warrants have been issued in connection with the investigation. Odin Lloyd was found slain June 17. The 27-year-old's relatives said he was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancee and that the two men were friends. Hernandez's attorney has said he will refrain from commenting on the substance of the investigation while it is ongoing.
June 18 6:39 PM PT7:39 PM MT8:39 PM CT9:39 PM ET1:39 GMT9:39 AM 北京时间6:39 PM MST8:39 PM EST8:39 PM CT5:39 UAE (+1)21:39 ET0:39 - A man found dead in an industrial park about a mile from Hernandez's house was a semi-pro football player with connections to Hernandez, his family said Wednesday.
Analysis: Hernandez attorney Michael Fee acknowledged media reports about the state police search of Hernandez's home as part of an investigation but said he and the player wouldn't have any comment on it. Sports Illustrated, citing an unidentified source, reported Tuesday that Hernandez was not believed to be a suspect in what was being treated as a possible homicide.
