Vermont wraps up 2nd straight America East crown

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Drew Urquhart scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Ernie Duncan also had 18 points to lead Vermont to a 75-54 victory over Binghamton on Wednesday night and its second straight America East regular-season championship.

The Catamounts bounced back from their only conference loss of the season, 69-68 to Hartford on Sunday, to claim the outright title with their win over the Bearcats and UMBC's loss to Stony Brook. Vermont (23-6, 13-1) is three games ahead of the Retrievers and Hartford (both 10-2) with two games remaining.

Duncan had four 3-pointers and became the 37th player in Vermont history to reach 1,000 points. Payton Henson added 15 points and seven assists and Trae Bell-Haynes 12 points. Vermont shot 53 percent.
