Elechi, Morehead St. beat Murray State in OVC quarters
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Anthony Elechi scored 17, on 6-of-8 shooting, with nine rebounds, and Lyonell Gaines had 15 points and 10 boards to help No. 3 seed Morehead State beat sixth-seeded Murray State 75-66 in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference tournament Thursday night.
Xavier Moon added 16 points for Morehead State, which will face No. 2 seed Tennessee-Martin (18-13) in the semifinals Friday.
Murray State (17-14) got 16 first-half points from Bryce Jones to take a 36-29 lead into the break, but shot just 34.6 percent from the field, including 2 of 11 (18.2 percent) from 3-point range, after halftime.MORE
